Option 1: Browser based printing (recommended)
Works with almost any printer connected to the computer (USB, Wi-Fi or network).
- Install the printer on the computer with the manufacturer's driver, and print a test page from Windows.
- Settings › Business Locations › Edit: set Receipt Printer Type to Browser Based Printing.
- Use an invoice layout with the Slim design for thermal paper.
- When you print, choose the receipt printer in the browser's print window. Set Margins: None, untick Headers and footers, and choose the paper size (58 or 80 mm).
Tip: In Chrome, the print window remembers your last printer and settings, so after the first time you just press Print.
Option 2: Configured receipt printer (network)
For network thermal printers that should print without the browser window:
- Settings › Receipt Printers › Add: name, connection type (network), capability profile, characters per line (42 or 48 for 80 mm, 32 for 58 mm), IP address and port (usually 9100).
- Business Locations › Edit: set Receipt Printer Type to Use Configured Receipt Printer and choose the printer.
Cash drawer
Most cash drawers connect to the receipt printer and open when it prints. Turn on the drawer kick in the printer's driver settings ("open cash drawer after printing").
Mobile app
The app prints to Bluetooth thermal printers directly. See Bluetooth receipt printers.
