Credit sales and pay terms (customer pays later)

Sell on credit to a named customer, set when they must pay, and record their payment when it comes in.

Updated 13 Oct 2026

Making a credit sale

  1. On the POS, select the customer (credit sales are not allowed for Walk-In Customer).
  2. Add the products.
  3. Click Credit Sale and confirm.

The sale is saved with payment status Due, and the amount is added to the customer's balance.

Pay terms and credit limits

  • Pay term is how many days or months the customer has to pay. Set it on the customer (Contacts › Customers › Edit) or on the sale. Overdue invoices appear on the dashboard under Sales payment due.
  • Credit limit is the most a customer may owe. If a sale would take them over the limit, TechFusion will stop it. Admins set this on the customer, or a default under Settings › Business Settings › Contact.

Recording the payment later

  1. Go to Sell › All sales and filter Payment status: Due, or open the customer under Contacts › Customers.
  2. On the sale row click Actions › Add Payment (or Pay on the customer page to pay several invoices at once).
  3. Enter the amount, method and date, then save.

Tip: The customer's Ledger shows every sale and payment with a running balance. It's ideal to share when following up. See Customer balances and ledger.
