Work through this list once when you join TechFusion POS. Each step links to a detailed guide.
- Check your business details. Go to Settings › Business Settings. Confirm the business name, currency, time zone (Africa/Nairobi for Kenya), financial year start and logo. See Business settings explained.
- Set up your locations. Every shop, branch or store is a location. Go to Settings › Business Locations. Add each one with its address, invoice layout and the payment methods it accepts. See Business locations.
- Set your taxes. Add your VAT rate (for example 16%) under Settings › Tax Rates. If you are not VAT registered you can skip this. See Tax rates.
- Set up payment methods. Rename spare payment methods, for example "Custom Payment 1" → "M-Pesa", and turn off the ones you don't use for each location. See Payment methods.
- Connect M-Pesa (optional) so customers can pay by Till or Paybill with automatic confirmation. See Setting up M-Pesa.
- Create categories, brands and units, for example Bag, Litre, Piece. See Categories, brands and units.
- Add your products one by one or import them from Excel. See Adding a product and Importing products.
- Enter your opening stock, meaning the quantities you have on the shelf today. See Opening stock.
- Add your team with the right roles (Cashier, Manager…) and locations. See Adding users.
- Make a test sale and print a receipt. Open POS, sell one item, check the receipt, then delete the test sale. See Making a sale.
Tip: Doing a big import? Start with 5–10 products, check they look right on the POS screen, then import the rest.
